History
STEP Engineering was founded in 2008 in Emmen and grown into a versatile engineering firm with a strong base in architectural and industry related projects.
In 2010, STEP Engineering acquired the renowned firm BSH. This acquisition marked a significant expansion of our expertise and markets, and also marked the beginning of our activities in the timber engineering. Since then, we have become a specialist in timber construction projects, including CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) structures.
In 2020, we opened a second branch in Groningen, which further strengthened our presence in the northern Netherlands and allowed us to continue our growth.
Over the years, we have worked on numerous national and international projects, including in France (Les Bois Francs), Belgium (Diksmuide), Germany (Frankfurt), Switzerland (Lonza), China (Changzhou) and even at a Beach house in the Bahamas.
Our development shows a clear line: from structural engineering firm with industrial roots to become an expert in innovative and sustainable timber construction. Today, we combine technical depth with future-oriented knowledge for projects that are ready for tomorrow's challenges.

Within our organisation, disciplines reinforce each other. In Architecture, project managers and project engineers work closely together to structure projects clearly and supervise them smoothly. In Structures, structural engineers and modellers combine their expertise to develop safe, efficient and well-considered structural solutions.
